Mary Martha Allen

Mrs. Mary Martha Allen, 83, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully at 1:45 AM on Sunday, August 20th, 2017, in the Williamsburg Healthcare.She was born in Montgomery County on February 25th, 1934, to Floyd Verne and Lilly Catherine (Woodard) Simms.She married Frank C. Allen, Jr. in Rockville on February 14th, 1960.He preceded her in death on July 3rd, 2007.

Mary was a Homemaker and early in her life had worked as a Waitress in restaurants.She was a member of the Browns Valley Christian Church; had attended Waveland Schools; and in her free time, enjoyed her flowers, working in her garden, sewing, and helping others.

She is survived by her daughters: Joanna (Dirk) Rewerts, New Market; Brenda Lee Allen, Waveland; Marsha J. (Dewayne) Borden, Crawfordsville; and her son: Alger Frank Allen. Also surviving is her sister: Barbara Ann Kennedy, Covington, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Rose Martha Simms; and her brothers: Homer and Donald Simms.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 23rd, at the Browns Valley Christian Church, 9011 SR 47 South, Crawfordsville, with Pastor David Finch officiating.Burial will follow in the Maple Ridge Cemetery at Waveland.Friends may all at the church on Wednesday from Noon until 2:00 PM.Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.Memorials in Mary's name may be made to the church.
