Mary Frances Chesterson

Mrs. Mary Frances Chesterson, 93, Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, September 24th, at 6:08 PM, in the Franciscan Health of Crawfordsville Hospital. She was born June 1st, 1923, in St. Joseph, Illinois, to Luther and Flora (Nickle) Weaver. She married Fred Nelson Chesterson in Crawfordsville, on November 7th, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 30th, 1990.

Mary had been a Homemaker as well as a Cook for the Waveland Schools for several years. She attended Tangier Schools and was a 1942 graduate of New Market High School; a member of the Russellville Pythian Sisters; and was a member of the Browns Valley Baptist Church, where she had been the organist and pianist for several years, and was active in the Church's Women's Missionary Group. In her free time she enjoyed embroidery, crafts, and was the "Unofficial Keeper of the Family History".

She is survived by her sons: Marty (Linda) Chesterson, Crawfordsville; James (Karen) Chesterson; Terre Haute; and Randall (Susan) Chesterson, Terre Haute. Also surviving are grandchildren: Paul Chesterson; Brian Chesterson; Ashley Vidrine; Alyssa Wampler; Jamie Chesterson; Ryan Chesterson; Evan Chesterson; great-grandchildren: Meagan Chesterson; Tim Chesterson; Nicole Chesterson; Julia Chesterson; Madeleine Wampler; Brayden Chesterson; and Lucca Chesterson. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her parents; and her grandson: Mark Chesterson, in 2015.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 28th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Grant Avenue Cemetery.
