Mrs. Mary Mollie Cooper, 91, Crawfordsville, passed away Monday, December 31, at 11:00 AM in the Williamsburg Healthcare. She was born May 9, 1921 in Glasgow, Kentucky, to Alfred V. "Bun" and Maggie (Richey) Elmore. She married Marion H. Cooper, May 12, 1945 in Rockville. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Mollie will be remembered for her 40 years as a School Crossing Guard in Crawfordsville. She also had worked for 8 years at RR Donnelleys; was a lifetime member of the Milligan Presbyterian Church; was a Pink Lady at Culver and St. Clare Hospitals; help start the Christian Nursing Service and Well Baby Clinic; worked for 40 years with the Fish program; member of the WW I Auxilliary; 1939 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; and spent her life helping people and children.
She is survived by her sister: Nellie Conrad, Crawfordsville; her brother: James H. Elmore, Lakeland, Florida; nieces: Peggy Anderson, Gail Millen, Kathie Watkins; nephews: Greg Conrad, Gary Elmore, Dennis Elmore.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, at 2:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Gene McVay officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
