Mary Ellen DeMotte

Mary Ellen (Callihan) DeMotte, age 87, of Kingman passed away at 2:26 am on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Conkling KY on November 2, 1927 to the late William and Tish (Marshall) Callihan.

In 1948 in Newport KY she married the love of her life, Billy Gene DeMotte, who preceded her in death on November 24, 1994. Mary worked for General Electric for 17 years while also being a great wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, sewing, was always changing the wallpaper in the house, loved cooking Sunday dinners and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by four sons, Gary (Chery) Carpenter of New Alsace IN, William "Buzz" (Donna) DeMotte of Silverwood, Jerry "Darby" DeMotte of Silver Island Road, and Jeffery" Scotty" DeMotte of Silverwood; son-in-law Danny Puckett of Crawfordsville; a special niece, JoDell Robinson; 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Gene; three daughters, Bonnie, Teresa, and Wanda; six sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 12pm till time of service at 2pm on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, Kingman with Jay Pribble officiating. Burial will follow at Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville.
