Mary H Mills

Mary H. Mills, age 88, of Waynetown, Indiana, passed away Sunday morning October 25, 2015 at Wellbrooke in Crawfordsville, Indiana where she had resided for nearly 2 years. Mary was born on April 21, 1927. She was the daughter of Samuel J. and Hazel (nee: Gilbert)Haraway at Featherston, Oklahoma. She graduated high school in Quilton, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State College. Mary and Donald G. Mills were married on May 22, 1951 in Tucson, Arizona and made their home on a farm near Waynetown, Indiana. Don preceded Mary in death on December 5, 2006. They raised three children on the farm who survive; Donald "Bud" and Bonnie Mills of Crawfordsville, Indiana, John D. Mills of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Martha and Bill Craft of Waynetown, Indiana. Mary is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Dr. Jackson Haraway of Ft. Smith, Ark.; and Robert Haraway of Norman, OK., and 1 sister Helen Rowton of Phoenix, AZ.

Mary was a member of the Alamo OES, the Montgomery County Business and Professional Women and the Montgomery County Historical Society.

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown, IN., with Rod Curran officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, south of Crawfordsville, IN. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Montgomery County Historical Society. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
