Mrs. Mary Louise "Lou" Oswalt, 86, Veedersburg, formerly of New Market, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, October 1st, at 4:30 AM. She was born September 5th, 1930, in Clermont, Indiana, to Malcolm and Rachel Esta (Dozier) McDonald. She married Robert Oswalt on October 2nd, 1947, in Ladoga. He survives.
Mrs Oswalt was a Homemaker. She attended Waveland Schools; was a member of the Browns Valley Christian Church; and attended the Prairie Chapel Church and the Sterling Christian Church. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Leslie C. (James) Wagner, Muncie; Donna J. (Rich) Douglas, Veedersburg; and Rick J. (Terri) Oswalt, Mooresville. Also surviving are brothers: Marvin E. (Carol) McDonald, Michigan; Melvin E. (Frieda) McDonald, Texas; sister: Phyllis B. Kenney, Maryland; grandchildren: Brad, Melanie, Krista, Kari, Ryan, Emily, Alyssa, Paige, Taylor, Olivia; great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Larissa, Haley, Jaylee, Elise, Savannah, Bryson, Wes, Cooper, Douglas, McKenna, and Blaine. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Clara E. Hayes; 2 brothers-in-law; 1 sister-in-law; 3 nephews; and 1 great-granddaughter.
Cremation was selected with a Memorial Service being held on Friday, October 7th, at 3:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Revs. David Bock and Gary Johnson officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the service time. A Family Committal Service will be held in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market, at a later date. Memorials may be made to: Browns Valley Christian Church, 9011 S.
