Mrs. Mary M. Sayler, 95, Crawfordsville, formerly of New Market, passed away on Wednesday at 10:14 PM at the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health, Crawfordsville. She was born September 27, 1916, in her home on Manchester Road, Montgomery County, to Jacob and Myrtle (Hurley) Pickel. She married Robert F. Sayler on November 25, 1937, in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2002.

Mrs. Sayler had been a homemaker; had worked as a clerk for Laird Glover Auctions for 50 years; and was the Deputy Brown Township Assessor for 17 years. She was a member of the New Market United Methodist Church; 50/50 Club and the Double Duzzins Club, both in New Market. She was a 1935 graduate of Crawfordsville High School.

She is survived by children: Janet (Steve) Zachary, Larry G. Sayler, Steven W. (Linda) Sayler, all of Crawfordsville, and John L. (Beth) Sayler, Lonaconing, Maryland. Also surviving are grandchildren: Corey (Ryan) Orr, Kelsie (Bryce) Pierce, Jeff Sayler, Pam Sayler, Jessika Zachary, several step grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Leslie Allen, her parents and sisters: Opal Glover and Doris Hunt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, at 2:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Bill Pike, officiating.

Burial will be at the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the New Market United Methodist Church, PO Box 326, New Market, IN 47965. Online condolences may be sent to: powerspriebefh.com
