Mary V. (Richardson) Whyde, age 78, of Kingman passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Waters of Covington after a short battle with brain cancer. She was born in Fountain County on April 14, 1938 to the late Lewis & Lois (Mettee) Richardson. On November 6, 1959, she married the love of her life of 57 years, Ethan Whyde, who survives.
Mary graduated from Kingman High School in 1956. She was a housewife and worked at the former Woodrow Funeral Home for over 20 years. She attended the Kingman Methodist Church and Prairie Creek Baptist Church. She was a member of the Wednesday Morning Quilters, Royal Neighbors of America, and the Friends of the Library. She enjoyed quilting and baking, and many people enjoyed the cookies she baked.
She is survived by her husband, Ethan, of Kingman; two brothers, Bob Richardson of Covington and Raymond (Glenda) Richardson of Kingman; two sisters, Janet Ping of Attica and Becky Brook of Crawfordsville; and special friends, Harold & Robin Dowell of Crawfordsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Hensley.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 1-3pm with the service at 3pm at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt.
