Matilda "Mattie" Marie Rasmussen Keller

Mrs. Matilda "Mattie" Marie Rasmussen Keller, age 94, passed away at Williamsburg Nursing Home, Crawfordsville, In. on June 5, 2014.

Mattie was born on March 9,1920 at Hoopeston,IL. the daughter of Earl E. and Rosie Foxx Butterworth and attended school at Hoopeston, IL.
She first married Emery N. Rasmussen on February 23, 1940 at Williamsport, In. and they raised five children before they later divorced. Mattie often worked as a cook over the years at Jackson Township Elementary school near Romney IN., and at Mary Lou Donuts in Lafayette and then at Purdue University. In her free time she loved to fish, sew and play card games of all kinds. Her family knew that as an avid Pacer's fan they were not to call her during a game. She was a member of the West Lafayette Nazarene church.

Mattie is survived by four of her children: sons Emery Rasmussen Jr. of Monticello, and Gerald and Sue Rasmussen of Crawfordsville; daughters Charlotte Hubbard and Debra Brown also both of Crawfordsville,IN. She also has 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, and one sister Hazel Cox of Crawfordsville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Dewey Butterworth, in Italy in 1943; her daughter Pamela "Penny" Rasmussen in June 2005 and her former husband, Emery Rasmussen Sr., June 1, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday Jun 9th at Shoemaker Funeral Home Waynetown, IN. with Rev. Mike Whitacre officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic cemetery. The family ill receive friends one hour prior to the services.
