Max E. Thompson, 87, Crawfordsville, passed away at his home on Friday (12/17). He was born on April 17, 1923,in Crawfordsville to Lloyd O. and Marguerite (Hamm) Thompson. He married Anna M. Deck, November 22, 1942 in Crawfordsville. She survives.

Mr. Thompson had worked for the State Highway Department in the Montgomery County District for 45 years. He was the Office Engineer's Assistant. He retired in 1986. He was also a graduate of New Market High School and a member of the Brownsvalley Christian Church. He also enjoyed gardening.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons: Larry G. Thompson of Crawfordsville, and Steve A. Thompson of New Ross, and 1 daughter; Sue Black of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are sisters; Kay Callis and Audra Terry, both of Crawfordsville and brother; Arlie Thompson of Crawfordsville. He is also survived by 8 grandchidlren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchildren.

Mr. Thompson was preceeded in death by his parents; son, Danny: 3 brothers, Walter, Don, & Hubert; sister, Phyllis Mumaw; granddaughter, Lindsay Thompson; and 2 infant grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Thompson will be held Tuesday, December 21, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S.Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. John Pettigrew

officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market.
