Mildred Headlee

Mrs. Mildred B. Headlee, 87, Crawfordsville, and formerly of Grandbury, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 8, at 10:15 PM in the Hickory Creek of Crawfordsville Healthcare. She was born May 28, 1926, in Carrboro, North Carolina, to Willie E. and Catherine Virginia (Gates) Burgess. She married George Thomas Headlee on February 7, 1944, in Durham, North Carolina. He preceded her in death in 1998.

Mrs Headlee retired from R. R. Donnelleys after 40 years where she last worked as Quality Inspector. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church, Grandbury, Texas. She attended North Carolina schools and her hobbies included doing yardwork, sewing, and crafts.

She is survived by her daughter: Catherine Doris Ketchum, Crawfordsville; her grandchildren: Melissa (Steve) Mason, Melanie Barnes, and Marsha (John) Jones. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Lewis Shambley; and a granddaughter: Michele Irene Shrum.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, December 13, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Whicker officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill South Cemetery.
