Mildred Rutan

Mrs. Mildred Ann Rutan, 78, Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday at 7:53 AM in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, due to complications from a recent automobile accident. She was born July 19, 1934, in Fountain County to Paul and Minnie (Mournout) DeSutter. She married Lawrence E. Rutan on December 8, 1957, in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death on 1992.

Mrs. Rutan was a homemaker and had worked for 10 years at R R Donnelleys. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and a 1952 graduate of Richland Township High School in Newtown.

She is survived by her daughter: Sandra (Demetrio Leon Guerrero) Rutan, Reston, Virginia. Also surviving are grandchildren: Julie Miller, Jill Leonard, and John Rutan; and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Jeff in 2006; also 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, at 2:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Alan Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Mace Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2:00 PM.
