Mona Louise (Swaim) Thompson, age 93 of Kingman, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Hickory Creek of Crawfordsville. She was born in Tangier, Indiana on January 28, 1931 to Ralph J. Sr. & Callie May (Jackson) Swaim.
Mona graduated from Tangier High School in 1949 and married Jack M. Thompson Sr. in February 11, 1952. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She worked at Dormeyer Industries in Rockville for many years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, taking care of her flowers, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Sheila A. Young; 2 sons, Jack (Dawn) Thompson and Marlon (Pam) Thompson; 10 grandchildren, Andrea, James, Adrianne (Philip), Alison (Chad), Leann (Steve), Erin (Brad), Kayla (Christopher), Travis, Dakota, and Kyle; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; 2 sisters, Ardella Foster and Evelyn Randolph; and 2 sisters-in-law, Martha Ransom and Dorothy Swaim.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack M Thompson Sr; a son, Gerald E. Thompson; a son-in-law, Les Young; 3 sisters, Gladys Keller, May Swaim, and Barbara Tryon; 4 brothers, Don, Ralph Jr, Ray, and Glen Swaim; and a great grandson, Owen Christopher Kelley.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 11:00am till the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor Steve Crum and Pastor Doug Newnum officiating. Burial will follow at Rush Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Rush Creek Cemetery, c/o Robert Russell, 11052 N Bdale Road, Bloomingdale, IN 47832.
