Nancy Ann Mennen McCloud

Mrs. Nancy Mennen McCloud, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 31 in the Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville. She was born April 8, 1937 to Clyde and Lelah Gentry in Crawfordsville. She was married to Paul Mennen on April 7, 1963. He preceded her death on April 19, 2002. She married Harry McCloud on March 18, 2008.

Mrs. Mennen graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1955 and Ball State University with B.S. in 1959 and M.S. in 1961 in Elementary Education. She taught second grade for 31 years at Lafayette Vinton, Linden and Pleasant Hill elementary schools. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lafayette and First Christian Church in Crawfordsville. She was active in MNO Extension Homemakers, Montgomery County 4-H, Delta Kappa Sorority, and was a member and past president of the Montgomery County Retired Teachers. She touched the lives of many in the community. Her greatest joys in life were times spent with family and friends. She also enjoyed antique shopping, attending community activities, and watching sporting events.

In addition to her husband Harry, she is survived by her three children: David (Dana) Mennen of Nashville, TN with their three children, Caleb, Nathan and Grace; Mark (Michele) Mennen of Carmel, IN, with their three children, Luke, Jack and Abby; Marcia (Anders) Lund of Amesbury, MA, with their three children, Devin, Haakon and Bryson. In addition to her parents and husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her brother David Gentry and sister Jane Gaines Hutchings.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6th at the First Christian Church in Crawfordsville. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Grant Cemetery.
