Naomi Miles

Mrs. Naomi Lorene Miles, 96, Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, January 10th, at 4:45 PM in the Lane House Nursing Home. She was born January 11th, 1918, in Fountain County, to Eugene an Ruth (Crumley) Chrisman. She married Lewis Warren Miles on August 17th, 1946, in Terre Haute. He preceded her in death on October 5th, 2009.

Mrs. Miles had worked at G.C. Murphy's as a Clerk for 17 years. She also had worked at Woolworth's Dime Store for several years and in the Bindery Department at R. R. Donnelleys for 5 years. She was a 1939 graduate of New Richmond High School; and was a member of the Liberty Chapel Church.

She is survived by her children: Carolyn J. Schumann, Crawfordsville; and David L. Miles, Darlington. Also surviving is her sister: Alice Mae Stull, Crawfordsville; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her twin sister: Ona Baker; sister: Emma Jean Friend; brothers: George, Robert, and Arthur Chrisman; and her parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 14th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Renick officiating. Burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
