Nellie Pauline (Wilson) Gritten, age 91, of Covington went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:45 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Waters of Covington. She was born on March 15, 1925 to the late William Thomas & Mary (Anderson) Wilson.

Nellie graduated from Kingman High School in 1943 and married Bernard (Mutt) Gritten on August 4, 1946 and were happily married for 66 years until his passing on August 15, 2012.

She was a member of Stringtown Church of God. She actively took part in chili suppers and chicken noodle suppers. She was a Sunday School teacher when she was younger. She loved worshipping the Lord, going to garage sales and visiting all of her friends. We will miss her dearly.

She is survived by two daughters, Susanne (Michael) Broyles of Veederburg and Diane (David) Haehl of Shelbyville; one son, Randy (Pam) Gritten of Darlington; two sisters, Julia McHenry of Bismarck, IL and Rose Marie Curtis of Covington; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mutt; 3 brother-in-laws, and her older sister, Bessie. She loved all of her family, friends, and her Stringtown Church family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12th from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm at the Stringtown Church of God, 2390 S. Stringtown Road, Covington, IN. with Pastor Keith Klossner officiating. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
