Mrs. Norma Jean Heater, 81, Crawfordsville, passed away on Wednesday,January 17th, 2018, in the Williamsburg Healthcare of Crawfordsville. She wasbornOctober 20th, 1936, in Montgomery County to Leland and Elsie Lucille (Geiger) Axsom.

Norma Jean was retired from WM Plastics in Crawfordsville, where she had been a Press Operator.She also had worked at Zachary Candies in Frankfort; was a bartender at Treeces Bar in Rossville; and worked at Sears in West Lafayette.She was a member of the Crawfordsvlle First Church of the Nazarene, and attended the Fremont Street Baptist Church. She also had been a member of the Crawfordsville VFW Auxiliary; and in her free time enjoyed Bingo, Euchre, and doing puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters: Marilyn Roudebush, Noblesville; Glenda Church (Companion-Stanley Wrightsman), Waveland; Amy Grayson, Indianapolis; and her son: Dennis (Nina) Grayson, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are her sisters: Lenna Mings, Crawfordsille; Kathy VanCleave, New Ross; Martha (Barry) Cowell, Avon; her brothers: Rex (Diane) Cooksey; Terry (Lisa) Cooksey, both of Crawfordsville; 6 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Mary Ann Cooksey; Carolyn Nicholls; Pat Ward; her brothers: Robert and Leland, Jr. Axsom.

Funeral services are scheduled for Noon, Saturday,January 20th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home.Friends may call at the funeral home onSaturdayfrom 10:00 AM until Noon. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery at Elmdale.
