Mr. Norman L. Black, 69, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, at 4:30 AM, in the St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette. He was born June 14, 1943, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Arnold L. and Beulah E. (Keith) Black. He married Jeannie D. Kendricks on August 7, 1961, in Crawfordsville. She survives.
Mr. Black was retired from the Maintenance Department at Raybestos Products after 39 years. He attended Darlington and Waynetown schools and in his free time enjoyed fishing.
In addtion to his wife, he is survived by his son: Jeff (Sue) Black, Darlington; his sister: Betty (Jim) Hoffman, Crawfordsville; grandchildren: Amanda and Paul Bryant; nephew: Charles Alsip, Jr; nieces: Brenda Andert; Sandie Nona; Kristal Steen; Angie Krug; Sabrina Chadd; great nephew: Chaz Alsip. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Norman L. Jr.; brothers: Robert and Victor Lee Black; niece: Lisa Perkins; nephew: Victor Lee Black, Jr.
A public graveside service will be held on Friday, March 15, at 3:00 PM, in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington, with Richard Shirar and David Deckard officiating. There will not be a public visitation. Online condolences may be sent to: powerspriebefh.com
