Norman Eugene "Butch" Croucher, age 71 of Kingman, left his earthly home and all his favorite fishing spots and stepped out of that wheel chair to his heavenly reward with no pain anymore on Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Norm was born in Anderson, Indiana to James Matthew & Martha Ellen (Dean) Croucher. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Jasonville, Indiana where he started school, then moved to Kingman, until Jr. High, then Danville, Illinois became his home to finish Jr. High and he graduated from Danville High School in 1970. He attended DACC for a semester of mechanics then enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country from June 1970 to June 1973. He served a tour in Vietnam and was discharged from Ft. Riley, Kansas.

After coming home to Danville, he worked at Hyster and Itel Railcar as a welder. He farmed for various farmers thru the years; owned and operated Croucher's Mobile Welding and Croucher's Trucking, which he loved driving tri-axle and quad-axle dump trucks. He and his wife Peggy owned and ran The Yeddo General Store for 2 ½ years where the locals gathered regularly for some card playing.

He loved deer hunting, fishing, taking his little 79 red Dodge to car shows and building things, but most of all loved spending time with the grandkids.

Norm met Peggy Good in high school, but they married on June 24, 1989, she survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Keri (Ted Robertson) Croucher, from his first marriage, of Covington, Beth (Lee) Pearman of Cayuga and Kathy (Jon) Gresser of Kingman; 6 grandchildren, Austin Croucher, Cierra Elliott, Savannah Robertson, Mattie Croucher, Stella Pearman, and Joseph Gresser; his mother, Martha Croucher of Danville, Illinois; a sister, Linda (John) Pasquale; and two nephews, Jason & Ryan Pasquale.
