Norman Malone

Mr. Norman E. "Buck" Malone, 80, New Market, passed away Friday, February 24, at 7:32 PM in his his home. He was born July 15, 1931, in Newberry, Indiana, to Walter and Hazel (Sipes) Malone. He married Ruth E. Weise on October 13, 1951, in Vincennes, Indiana. She survives.

Mr. Malone retired from Nucor Steel in 1997 where he had been a Scale Operator. He had previously been the Manager for Custom Farm Service near New Market. He was a 1949 graduate of Lyons, Indiana, High School. In his free time he enjoyed gardening and fishing with friends and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Andrew (Delea) Malone, Crawfordsville; Robbie Lee (Becky) Malone, Crawfordsville; Christine (John) Farrow, Avon, Indiana; Pam Malone, Crawfordsville; and Toni (Steve) Gunderman, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are sisters: Catherine Huffine, Lyons, Indiana; June Evans, Elnora, Indiana; and 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Wilson Pickett, Carroll Malone, Woody Malone, and Jack Malone; sisters: Mabel Malone, Farrell Ray, and Peggy Switzer.

A Private Family Graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 28, at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market, with Rev. Dan Matthews officiating. Friends may call at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday.
