Mrs. Opal Ruth McKinstry, 96, Ladoga, passed away in the St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, on Monday, November 17th, at 4:45 AM. She was born January 17th, 1918, in Putnam County, to Elmer E. and Lillie M. (Kinkead) French. She married John Henry McKinstry on July 3rd, 1941, in Perrysville. He preceded her in death on December 24th, 1982.
Mrs. McKinstry was a devoted Mother and Homemaker. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and attended Ladoga, Mace, and New Ross Schools.
She is survived by her children: Larry J. McKinstry and Marsha (Kevin) Walsh, both of Ladoga. Also surviving is her sister: Gladys Fletcher, Naples, Florida; grandchildren: Chad M. Clendening; Juana (Jason) Gilliland; Julie (Duane) Lewellen, Anastasia Walsh; and Justin Walsh; great grandchildren: James, Maddison, Macie, Chase, Brayden; Ian, Lyra, Tryniti, Elijah, Destiny, Cameron, and Keagan. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, Novmeber 20th, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main St., with Father Dennis Faker officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday, November 19th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
