Mr. Orville Black, 92, Indianapolis, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away on Sunday, December 21st, at 7:40 PM in the Westpark Healthcare, Indianapolis. He was born July 1st, 1922, in Anderson, Indiana, to Virgil and Rosie (Friend) Davis. He was later adopted by John and Leatha Black. He married Alma J. Ryther on May 10th, 1972, in Columbus, Indiana. She preceded him in death on May 27th, 1995.
Mr. Black retired form Rockwell Automation, Columbus, Indiana, where he had been a Mechanic. After retirement he worked as a Security Guard for a Grocery Warehouse in Plant City, Florida. He was a U. S. Army Korean War Veteran; and attended the Church of God.
He is survived by his daughters: Linda (Doug) Warren, Crawfordsville; Patricia (Harold) Kinser and Jenny (Trent) Jones, both of Tyler, Texas. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Cremation without services was chosen. Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity
