Mr. Oscar Williams, 84, New Market, passed away quietly at home Wednesday morning, July 8th. He was born October 2nd, 1930, in Eubank, Kentucky, to Everett and Ethel (Day) Williams. He married Lillie Baugh in Tennessee on October 28th, 1957. She preceded him in death on September 9th, 2006.
Oscar worked for many years for the South Montgomery School Corporation retiring in 1995. He loved playing music, drawing, and telling stories. He was quite athletic, loving sports, especially his favorite, golf. He loved playing volleyball and basketball with his children, nieces, and nephews. His other passion was his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters: Marcia (Dale) Neal; Lana (Kevin) Albright; Sheila (Michael) Lannon; Diana Baugh; sons: Gregory Williams and Jerry Baugh. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Elizabeth Cummins; Emily (fiance', Tristan Knee) Dunning; Tricia (Troy) Ashby; Timothy McKinney; Jason Deer; Brittany (Trey) Chelf; Joshua and Benjamin Baugh; great grandchildren: Ivy and Ethan Ashby. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Roger; his sister and brother-in-law: Hazel and Alvin Ray; brothers: Oddist, Paul, and Carson Williams; and daughter-in-law: Stacy Baugh.
A Private Family Graveside service will be held Saturday, July 11th, in the Ladoga Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. The family will greet friends for a Visitation Service Friday, July 10th, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home
