Palmer Meadows, 94, Linden, passed away at his home on Monday, July 25, at 2:27 PM. He was born September 18, 1916 in Darlington, Indiana to Basil and Blanche (Palmer) Meadows. He first married Helen Perigo. She preceded him in death. He later married Mildred Lane on March 27, 1971, in Crawfordsville. She also preceded him in death in 2003.
Mr. Meadows had been a truck driver; had been a union Mason Laborer; had worked at the Turkey Run State Park Stables and the Two Gates Horse Farm in Carmel. He was educated in Wallace schools; was a lifetime member of the Crawfordsville Eagles; had worked for the Civil Defense; and loved to fish and especially spend time with his horses.
He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Mayotte of Linden; 3 sisters, Ruth Ellen Hutchins, Alabama, Jewell Lucky, Illinois, and Lois Lewellen, Arizona. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Jeffers; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, at 11:00 AM at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Randall Glenn officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 28, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Online
