Mrs. Patricia A. Gardner, 74, Crawfordsville, passed away Monday, February 20, at 4:39 AM in St. Vincent Hospital. She was born December 25, 1937 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Robert L. and Lillian (Vickery) Sumner. She married Jack R. Gardner, July 4, 1959 in New Market. He survives.

Mrs. Gardner had worked at the First National Bank, Crawfordsville as a teller and in the bookkeeping department. She also had worked at several Crawfordsville retail stores. She was a 1955 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Crawfordsville; member of the Phi Psi Epsilon Sorority; and a member of the Crawfordsville Municipal Ladies Golf Association. In her free time she enjoyed golfing, bowling, flower gardening, knitting, and crocheting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Roger (Grace) Gardner, Seymour, Indiana; and Tracy (Missy) Gardner, Seymour, Indiana; Jill (Chip) McKnight, Brownsburg, Indiana. Also surviving are two brothers: Bob (Ruby) Sumner, Boise, Idaho; Jim (Nancy) Sumner, Crawfordsville; and 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: Sonny Sumner.

There will be a public graveside service Thursday, February 23, at 1:00 PM at the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. There will not be any visitation hours.
