Patrick Hammill

Mr. Patrick Joseph "Pat" Hammill, 83, Crawfordsville, passed away on Sunday, May 25th, at 1:12 PM, in the Lafayette Seton Specialty Hospital. He was born March 26, 1931, in St Paul, Minnesota, to John J. and Mae Ann (Roemer) Hammill. He married Diane M. Kiesner on September 1, 1956, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She survives.

Pat had worked in various finance positions for Coast-To-Coast Hardware in Minnesota and Crawfordsville as well as Cotter & Co. True Value in Indianapolis. He was a graduate of Cretin High School and St. Thomas College, both in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was a Korean War U. S. Air Force Veteran; a member of the Singing Sergeants from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, a member of the American Legion Post #72; a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church; assisted with "Meals on Wheels"; and in his free time loved to travel and enjoyed working in his yard "picking up the sticks".

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Lisa Marie Hammill of Terre Haute, and Julie Anne (Hammill) Littlewood and her husband Michael of Lafayette. Also surviving are his 4 granddaughters: Skylar, Shannon, and Sierra Littlewood, and Kira Hammill-Anderson. Also surviving: his brother and sister in law Fred and Elaine Kiesner and their daughter Andrea Corpus, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews et al. He was preceded in death by an infant son: Christopher Patrick; his parents; grandparents; brother: Delbert Hammill; sisters: Mary Ruth Kratovil and Ann Marie Kamp.

Cremation was chosen with a "Celebration of Pat's Life Service" being held at 1:00 PM Sunday, June 1st, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main St., with Father Dennis Faker officiating.
