Peggy Jeanne (McGinnis) Perry, age 83 of Kingman, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Franciscan Health Lafayette surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wallace on October 6, 1940 to the late Arista Franklin & Geraldine Fauniel McGinnis.
Peggy graduated Wallace High School in 1958 and married the love of her life, Conrad Gene Perry Sr. on January 1, 1958. They were together 61 years till his death in 2019. She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Peggy was gifted in many ways. She was an avid seamstress, quilter and crafter making ceramic figures which she painted and fired in her own kiln. She was the pitcher on the Wallace Blues softball team helping to take them to many championship tournaments. Eventually her and Conrad built their own ballfield on their property which was used by the Wallace community for many years. She served on the Fountain Central Schoolboard handing out diplomas to three of her five children. She was a realtor and had her own company selling livestock and pet food for the community. Later her and Conrad would purchase land and start a gravel business still working today. They also raised cattle and horses which they bred and showed for many years.
Despite having her time filled with activity her real love was the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. She started attending the Freedom Christan Church in the 4th grade where she became the piano player and administrator until her death. She had a great love of God and was active in introducing children and adults to the Lord. She started a bible study class in Jackson township which continued for 25 years.
Peggy loved her children and helped to raise numerous grandkids and great grandkids. Probably best known to her family for her homemade noodles at Thanksgiving, she also counted cooking as one of her numerous talents. Peggy was the foundation of her family and community and will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her 5 children, Tammy Ann Perry, Pamela Dawn (Greg) Clingan, Conrad Gene (Wataneka) Perry Jr., Daniel William Perry, and Amy Joan Musser; 8 grandchildren, Kayla (Terry) Holt, Amanda (Allen) Strawser, Hannah Clingan, Matthew (Jordan) Perry, Laurel Reynolds, Alicia Reynolds, Sadie (Tyler) Scott, and Isaiah Musser; and 11 great grandchildren, Kaydence, Reis, Remi, William, Jude, Elijah, Addysyn, Annabell, Nova, Oliver, and Atlas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clifford McGinnis; a sister, Betty Donelson; and a granddaughter, Arista Jean Perry.
