Peggy Ray

Mrs. Peggy L. Ray, 58, Ladoga, passed away Saturday, February 25, at 1:33 AM at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville, Indiana. She was born October 2, 1953, in Crawfordsville, to Art and Tyke (McMahan) Rice. She married Bill D. Ray on December 28, 1975, in Crawfordsville. He survives.

Mrs. Ray was a homemaker and farm wife who enjoyed babysitting her grandsons; her flowers; her garden; and home decorating. She was a 1972 graduate of Southmont High School and a graduate of Indiana Business College, Indianapolis; and a member of the New Market Baptist Church, where she had held almost all of the church offices.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Kelly (Chad) Cass, Ladoga, an Stephanie (J.D.) Troy, Rockville. Also surviving are her parents; sisters: Sharon (Keith) Blaydes, Crawfordsville; Shirley Servies, Brownsburg; Joyce Surface, New Market; her brother: Mark (Josette) Rice, Crawfordsville; grandchildren: Mason Cass, Spencer Cass, Harrison Cass, and Griffen Troy. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Cremation was selected with a Memorial Service to be held Wednesday, February 29, at 10:00 AM at the New Market Baptist Church, 106 1st St., New Market, with Rev. Michael Whitacre officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Tuesday, February 28, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to: Southmont FFA, 6425 US 231 S., Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
