Phyllis L Gossett

Phyllis L. (Philpott) Gossett, age 76, of Kingman passed away at 10:12pm on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at I.U. Health in Lafayette. She was born in Veedersburg on August 11, 1938 to the late Myrle and Mildred (Keller) Philpott.

Phyllis graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1958 and on May 5, 1959 she married Donald M. Gossett, who preceded her in death in 2005. Phyllis was a loving mother and housewife and cleaned the Kingman post office, bank, and doctor's office for many years. She was a member of the Kingman American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms and playing bingo.

She is survived by two sons, Donald (Rhonda) Gossett Jr. of Kingman and Roger (Pam) Gossett of Perrysville; a daughter, Donna (Donnie) Hutson of Veedersburg; six grandchildren, Nickie, Lia, Amanda, Tyler, Dylan, and Tristen and 6 great grandchildren, Darrica, Gabriel, Alex, Austin, Emma and Brady.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; her brother, Lelland; and grandson, Darrick.

Family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman. The funeral service will be at 10 am on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Bonebrake Cemetery in Veedersburg.
