Phyllis Lorene (McCrarey) Taylor, age 85 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Whitlock Place surrounded by her family. She was born in Pineville, Kentucky on July 9, 1939 to the late Charles "Arthur" McCrarey and Betty J0 (Todd) Stewart.
Phyllis graduated from Crawfordsville High School. She married Charles "Dale" Taylor on September 28, 1957, he preceded her in death on September 12, 2023. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Phyllis will be remembered for the unconditional love she showed her family. She was an avid gardener and seamstress and loved visiting with her friends at Whitlock.
Phyllis was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Michael R. (Laura) Taylor; daughters, Patricia "Lynn" (Jerry) Richards, Pamela "Pam" (Brad) Carpenter, and Darlena (Brandon) Wright; grandchildren, Jeremy Richards, Kamryn (Cody) Rescigno, Katie Taylor, Cory Taylor, Heath Taylor; Mackenzie Carpenter, Morganne Carpenter, Marleigh (Philip) Burger, Matt Carpenter, Keaton Wright, Xavier Wright, Brandon (Jessica) Kohr, Matthew Kohr, and Rylee Kohr, great-grandchildren, Gavyn Richards, Kaleb Rescigno, Henry Burger, Charlotte Burger, and Waylon Kohr; sisters, Jean Landers, Jackie (Steve) Apple, and Judi Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; and her brother, Charles McCrarey.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Phyllis and Dale at the American Legion, 101 Walter Remley Dr, in Crawfordsville on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
