Mr. Ralph Gray Myers, 91, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, March 16th, at 3:05 PM in the Danville, Illinois, VA Medical Center. He was born March 1st, 1925, in Waveland, to Clarence and Mary (Gray) Myers. He was raised by Homer and Agnes Gray of Fountain County. He married Linda S. Horn in Alamo on December 4th, 1988. She survives.
Ralph worked for Raybestos retiring in 1985; he also retired from the Montgomery County Sheriff Department, where he had been a Jail Officer for 8 years; retired from Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power Company after 10 years; he also farmed and was a truck driver delivering travel trailers. He was the oldest member of the Ripley Township Fire Department; was a 1942 graduate of Wallace High School; was a U. S. Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion; and attended the Alamo Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Kathy (Keith) Witt, Darlington; Alan Myers, Crawfordsville; Dennis (Rosemary Wynn) Myers, Waynetown; Lisa Coudret, Crawfordsville; Tammy Acosta, Jefferson City, Missouri; Kelli Koebcke, Martinsville. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Esther (Tom) Lamson; and Alice May (Chester) Ingersoll.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, March 21st, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Cremation will follow funeral services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service time. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Crawfordsville VFW and American Legion Posts Honor Guard and the U. S. Navy.
