Raymond Earl Broughton

Mr. Raymond Earl Broughton, 62, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, January 8th, in the Franciscan Health of Crawfordsville Hospital. He was born October 17th, 1954, in Seymour, Indiana, to Edward and Alpha M. Broughton. He married Dawn Elaine Butler in Lafayette on July 10th, 1982. She survives.

Ray worked for Amerihealth Caritas as a Health Economics Manager. He was a 1972 graduate of Jennings County High School and received his Masters in Business Management fro Indiana Wesleyan University. His memberships included the New Market Christian Church where he was and Elder and Chairman of the Church Board. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, and especially loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Kristian M. (Mary Ann) Altepeter, Dayton, Ohio; Raychael E. (David) Irving, Kokomo, Indiana; and Jennifer M. (Justin) Porter, Russellville. Also surviving is his Mother of North Vernon, Indiana; his sister: Sandra L. Downs, North Vernon; his brother: James E. Broughton, Vernon, Indiana; and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; his sister: Mary Ann Martin; and his granddaughter: Destiny Mae Rosenbaum.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Thursday, January 12th, at the New Market Christian Church, 300 S. Third St., New Market, with Pastor Gary Snowden officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, January 11th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Memorials in Ray's memory may be made to the church.
