Raymond Wise

Mr. Raymond A. Wise, 94, Crawfordsville, passed away Friday, March 11, at 10:35 PM, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital, Lafayette. He was born November 8, 1916, in Tippecanoe County, to Alonzo and May (Schnault) Wise. He was married to Mildred Isenberg May 5, 1983 in Smartsburg. She survives.

Mr. Wise was a farmer for many years and retired after 15 years at DeKalb, Inc in Crawfordsville. He was a 1933 graduate of Jackson Township High School. He enjoyed doing woodworking for himself and with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching his grand kids play sports.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons: Richard (Rose) Wise, Fremont, CA; Steve (Tami) VanCleave, Pendleton, IN; David and Robert VanCleave, both of Crawfordsville; daughters: Carole Raye Cook, Boliver, MO; Deborah (John) Higgins, Coatesville, IN; Connie (David) Hasty, Dalton, GA.; brothers: Don (Marge) Wise and Ralph (Betty) Wise, both of Lafayette, IN. There are also surviving many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Ethel Frey.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 16, at 2:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St, Crawfordsville, with Rev. Mike Parks officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill North Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from Noon until the service time.
