Rebecca J. Perigo

Rebecca Perigo, age 90, formerly of Waynetown, IN. passed away at 2:05 am Thursday June 26, 2014 at the home of her daughter Valerie Ledman in Lafayette, IN. Beckie was born on March 18, 1924 in Crawfordsville, In. the daughter of Claude and Hazel (nee: Johnson) Moody an graduated from Crawfordsville High School. A member of the Waynetown United Methodist Church she was also co-owner of Perigo Trucking. Beckie had previously worked as an accountant/bookkeeper at Culver Hospital and Blackford Gravel in Crawfordsville, IN. Her hobbies included sewing an knitting. One of the things she enjoyed most in her retirement was making quilts for the homeless, chemo-hats for cancer patients, preemie gowns for Riley Childrens Hospital, mittens an hats for school children an bears for star ambulance service. Beckie loved to rad the newspaper and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Beckie married Donald Perigo on May 25, 1950 and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2011. She is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters: Ronald (wife Barbara) of Melbourne FL.; Randy (wife Nancy) and John (wife Kathy) both of Waynetown, IN. Nancy (husband Jim) Sumner of Crawfordsville, In. and Valerie (husband Doug) Ledman o Lafayette, N. 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Sunday June 29th at Shoemaker Funeral Home Waynetown with burial to follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. the family will receive guest from 4:00pm to 8:00 PM at he funeral home on Saturday.
