Richard Lynn Cummins

Mr. Richard L. Cummins, 62, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, May 24th, at 3:46 PM in the Eskenazi Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born June 12th, 1953, in Hammond. He married Rhonda Jean Surface on October 27th, 1995, in Crawfordsville. She survives.

Richard had worked in Maintenance for many years. He attended schools in Texas; was a U.S. Army Veteran; was of the Baptist faith; and was an accomplished musician and artist. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jeanie, his is survived locally by his daughters: Nikki Calloway (Companion Kenny Rice), Crawfordsville; Beth (Travis) Smith, New Market; his son: Christopher (Susan) Conkright, Ladoga; and his parents: Shirley and Grant Knowles, Mellott. Also surviving are daughters: Dena and Angie Cummins of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters: Gina Courtney, Crawfordsville; Lisa Lane, Austin, Texas; Dianne Kiger, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 20 grandchildren; and 3 great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his son: David Vincent Cummins; his sisters: Candy Mack and Melody Knowles; his brother: Greg Knowles; and his grandparents: Virgil and Bessie Cummins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27th, at 6:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 PM until the service time
