Richard Moore

Mr. Richard "Dick" (Red) Moore, 81, Crawfordsville, passed away at 12:17 PM Tuesday,June 19, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, as a result of a fire in his home. He was born June 19, 1931, in Crawfordsville, to Hubert F. and Bernice (Harper) Moore Allen. He married Betty Jane Chastain in 1948, the mother of their four children. He also married Delores Moore and Betty Priest.

Mr. Moore retired from Raybestos Brake Products; was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and the Bebout Chiropractic School; was a member of the Youngs Chapel Christian Church; Roachdale Masonic Lodge, Crawfordsville Eagles and Moose Lodges; and Murat Shriners. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, antiquing, coins, and loved playing Texas Hold-em.

He is survived by his children: Debi (Larry) Cassida, Pittsboro; Brenda (Buck) Stonebraker, Crawfordsville; and Rick (Betsy) Moore, Beech Grove. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several step grand and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his his daughter: Tina Moore

Truax; first wife Betty Jane Moore and his later wife, Betty Priest Moore; 2 great grandchildren; and his dog Clyde.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 25, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St. There will be Masonic Rites at 1:30 PM conducted by the Roachdale Masonic Lodge, followed by the funeral service conducted by Rev. Dorman Winger. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill South Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
