Robert Dale Deck

Robert Dale Deck, age 81 of Crawfordsville passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at home.  He was born in Crawfordsville on October 3 ,1937 to the late Marion Albert & Hallie Frances (Turner) Deck.

He graduated from New Market High School in 1956 and after graduation he married Patricia French and they had five sons; Gerry, Dan, Terry, Ricky, and Bobbie.  On June 20, 1973 he married Joan Deck, who preceded him in death on October 19, 2012.  Throughout the years he worked in construction, mainly for Randolph Construction.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge, loved to fish and grill outside for his neighbors, and always had a bag of candy and was known as the “Candy Man”.

He is survived by two step-sons, Robert (Laura) Waltman and Richard Waltman; sister, Madonna (Bill) Frazier; three brothers, Eddie Paul (Wilma) Deck, Fred (Jeanne) Deck, Jack (Betty) Deck; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; three sisters, Anna Mae Thompson, Latricia Dowell, and Joyce Day; and two brothers, Alfred and Charles Deck.

Cremation was chosen with a graveside service at Indian Creek Hill Creek Cemetery on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 11:00am with Pastor Vernon Dowell officiating.  Sanders Priebe Funeral Care entrusted with care.  Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
