Robert Coons Hayes

Mr. Robert C. "Bob" Hayes, New Ross, passed away in his home Tuesday evening, November 10th. He was born November 18th, 1943, in Montgomery County, to Paul Robert and Helen Louise (McAnulty) Hayes. He married Judith Ann Waltz on August 11th, 1964, in Asheville, North Carolina. She survives.

Bob was a Farmer; a 1961 graduate of New Ross High School; a member of The Montgomery County Pioneer Association; a member of the Hoosier Hampshire Association; was in the U. S. Army Reserves at Waveland; and had been active in 4-H with his children.

In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by his daughters: Laura (Doug) Leatherman, and Amy (Jeff) Sloan, both of New Ross. Also surviving is his sister: Rebecca (Roger) Dice, Crawfordsville; grandchildren: Austin (Callie) Jones; Cody (Kendra) Leatherman; Abby (Mavrick) Gutwein; Aissa Leatherman; great-grandchildren: Creegan and Creighton Jones, and Kaiden Gutwein. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Public Graveside Service is scheduled for 2:30 PM Friday, November 13th, in the Mace Community Cemetery, with Rev. Michael Whitaker officiating. There will not be a public visitation.
