Robert Lee Mings Sr

Mr. Robert Lee "Bob" Mings, Sr., 80, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, March 5th, at 6:20 PM. He was born March 16th, 1936, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, to Othie and Lucinda (Holt) Mings. He married Lenna Mae Axsom in Crawfordsville on December 23rd, 1963. She survives.

Bob Farmed and worked for MJV Cleaning Services for 5 years. He retired in 1992. He attended Danville, Indiana Schools; was a member of the Army National Guard in Danville, Indiana; attended the Sonlight Wesleyan Church; and in his free time enjoyed dancing; being outdoors; and especially fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Roxanna (Randy) Randolph, Gainesville, Florida; Elaine (Kenneth) Kouns, Crawfordsville; Rebecca Mings, Crawfordsville; his sons: Dwayne Hunt, Ocala, Florida; Robert (Jeanne) Mings, Jr., Crawfordsville; David Mings, Crawfordsville; and Jonathan (Amber) Mings, Somerset, Kentucky. Also surviving are his brothers: Vernus (Ann) Mings, Bushnell, Florida; Hubert Mings, Crawfordsville; several grand and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother: William Zach Mings; and his sisters: Mary Montgomery; Frances Green; Lavina Frye; and Alta Hubble.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 8th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery at Elmdale. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the service time
