Robert Phelps

Mr. Robert A. Phelps, 78, Jamestown, passed away Monday, November 25, in his home. He was born November 4, 1935, in Ladoga, to Albion H. and Laura Mae (Thompson) Phelps. He married Betty I. Smith December 6, 1976, in Danville, Illinois. She preceded him in death. He later had a companion, Barbara Smoot, who also preceded him in death.

Mr. Phelps was a retired Barber, having owned "Bobs Barber Shop" in Jamestown for over 50 years. He was educated in Roachdale and New Market Schools, and was a graduate of Whites School, Wabash, Indiana, and was also a graduate of the Indiana Barber College.

He is survived by his son: Dave (Brenda) Phelps, North Salem; his daughter: Betty Jane (Mark) Wyeth, Santa Fe, Tennessee; sister: Norma (Bob) Sering, Crawfordsville; brother: Forest (Daphne) Phelps, North Port, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, November 30, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with Rev. Harlan Kincade officiating. Burial will follow the funeral services in the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Jamestown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 29, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM
