Ronald Thompson

Mr. Ronald Max Thompson, 80, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, November 6, at 10:56 AM, in St. Elizabeth Crawfordsville, following a single vehicle accident. He was born January 10, 1932, in Crawfordsville, to Emory C. "Bus" and Hazel Anna (Moore) Thompson. He married Betty Lou Grayson on December 24, 1955, in Bainbridge. She survives.

Mr. Thompson had retired from DeKalb Seed Company in 1993, having started there in 1951. While working he had been a Warehouse Foreman; Dryer Technician; Electrician; worked in the Bagging Room; and worked on seed plots. He was a 1950 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; and a member of the Crawfordsville Army National Guard. In his free time he loved to hunt, trap, fish, work on his home, and mow his lawn.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Carol Ann Thompson, Crawfordsville; Thomas W. Thompson, Linden; Phillip W. Thompson, Crawfordsville; and Raymond D. (Penny) Thompson, Childress, Texas. Also surviving is a niece: Linda Arnett (Rick) Steele, Enterprise, Alabama; grandchildren: Mike, Kevin, and Michael Thompson; Louanna Thompson Stacey; Ginny Thompson (Josh) Anglin; Danielle Thompson Hartman; great grandchildren: Sarah Stacey, Jade Brattain, and Brittany Bonifacius. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Thelma Bernice Arnett; a nephew: James Henry Arnett.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, at 2:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with Mike Kincaid officiating. Entombment will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
