Mrs. Rosemary Servies, 87, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, October 21, at 5:30 AM, in the Lane House Nursing Home. She was born July 14, 1925, in Lebanon, to Reece and Blanche (Stevens) Potts. She married John E. Servies, October 8, 1943, in Englewood, New Jersey. He survives.
Mrs. Servies was a homemaker and had worked at the Crawfordsville Shirt Factory and for the Farm Bureau Co-Op as a bookkeeper. She attended Mace Schools and was a 1943 graduate of New Ross High School; member of the Whitesville Christian Church; past president of the American Legion Post 72 Auxilliary; member of the Crawfordsville VFW Auxilliary; and active in Montgomery County 4-H.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: James (Virginia) Servies and William (Lorie) Servies, both of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are grandchildren: Morgan Smith, Lindsy Green, David Servies, and Kristopher Servies; and great grandson: J. R. Servies. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert in 2002, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, at 1:00 PM at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with Rev. Michael Whitacre officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Grant Avenue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 24, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
