Roxie Jean Stewart

Roxie Jean (Bowers) Stewart, age 77 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Life's Journey Hospice. She was born in Crawfordsville on May 15, 1947 to the late Ned and Mabel (Cash) Bowers.

Roxie graduated from Waveland High School in 1965. She married Michael Lewis Stewart on March 29, 1967. She retired from Midstates Steel and Wire after 33 years. Roxie adored spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, 4-H, shopping, eating out, and trips to Florida with her girlfriends. Roxie also enjoyed watching her daughters and granddaughters play tennis and Say Yes to the Dress. She had a caring heart and loved helping others.

Roxie will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years; daughters, Wendy (Monty) Black and Amanda Stewart; granddaughters, Kaitlin Black and Kennady Zachary; and her sister, Gwen Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gerald Bowers.

A visitation for Roxie will be held at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington in Crawfordsville on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of funeral service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating.
