Russell Jewell McCullough

Russell Jewell McCullough, age 84 of Crawfordsville passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville.  He was born in Norborne, Missouri on October 16, 1934 to the late Everett Leonard & Edna Jane (Snider) McCullough.

Russell graduated from Jefferson High School near Frankfort, Indiana in 1953 and proudly served his country in the United States Army.  On December 23, 1960 in Advance, Indiana he married the love of his life, Martha Evelyn Benge, who survives.  He worked as a machine repairman for 38 years at General Motors in Indianapolis and retired in 1997.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha; a son, Russell J. “Rusty” McCullough Jr; two daughters, Kristina (James) Sowers and Mary Ellen Johnson, all of Crawfordsville; three brothers, Carroll Gene McCullough of North Salem, Melvin L. (Mary) McCullough of Jamestown, and Everett Ray (Shirley) McCullough of Frankfort; a sister, Joyce Robison, of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Andrew Sowers and Chelsea (Dustin) Morman; a great grandchild, Ezra Morman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Mason Wall.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St. in Crawfordsville on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 11:00am till the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm.  Burial will follow at New Ross Cemetery.  Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
