Mr. Russell Alva Sarver, 90, Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, April 25th, at 9:20 PM in the Williamsburg Healthcare. He was born January 14th, 1925, in Montgomery County, to Earl Clarkson and Eva Ethel (Keller) Sarver. He married Virginia Ruth Stultz on January 24th, 1946, in Indianapolis. She survives.
Mr. Sarver retired as an Assistant Folder Operator from R R Donnelley's in 1985, where he had worked for 39 years. He was a 1943 graduate of Alamo High School; was a WW II US Army Veteran; was a member of the Yountsville Community Church; a member of the 1000 Trails Camping Club; and enjoyed gardening, Square Dancing, Round Dancing, fishing, hunting, golf, bowling, and casinos.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Beth (Gary) Jeffers, Waynetown; Catherine (Dwayne) Harris, Crawfordsville; James Sarver, Attica; and David Sarver, Cloverdale. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Juanita Luzader and June Dellinger; brothers: Richard and Guy Sarver.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 29th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum with Military Rites being conducted by the US Army and the Crawfordsville American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.
