Ruth Ann Stierwalt

Mrs. Ruth Ann Stierwalt, 69, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, November 1st, at 2:00 PM in the Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville, surrounded by her husband and two sisters. She was born August 2nd, 1947, in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville to James and Ethel (Higgins) Sandusky. She married Maurice G. "Maury" Stierwalt on May 14th, 1977, in Crawfordsville. He survives.

Ruth Ann was a 1965 graduate of New Market High School and had worked for R. R. Donnelleys for 121/2 years and then in 1977 leased and operated with her husband the Evansville Gun Club, Evansville, Indiana. In 1982 Ruth Ann and Maury operated the Indiana Gun Club until 1987, at which time they started M&R Sports in Crawfordsville, selling and retiring that business in 1999. After Ruth Ann retired, she worked for several years in the kitchen at the Crawfordsville Country Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her step-daughters: Vonda Eberhard, Haubstadt, Indiana; Vakena Stierwalt, Martinsville; and Voleta Stierwalt, Ladoga. Also surviving are sisters: Sandy Caldwell, Crawfordsville; Barb (Jim) Stephens, Crawfordsville; step-grandchildren: Valen; Vailey; step great-granddaughter: Viani; nieces: Jennifer Bentley; Christy Sandusky; nephews: Eric, Tony, and Jesse Sandusky. She was preceded in death by her parents; bothers: Jay T. and Fred Sandusky; mother-in-law: Mary Partner; grandparents: Fred and Cecil Sandusky; and Orville and Hattie Higgins.

A Celebration of Live Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, November 4th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home with Rev. Rich Fuller officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
