Ruth Tansel

Mrs. Ruth O. Tansel, 86, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, June 12, at 4:50 PM in the Lane House Nursing Home. She was born July 13, 1926, in Montgomery County to Emery and Mavis (Henley) Allen. She married Erval L. Tansel, November 30, 1946 in Crawfordsville. He survives.

Mrs. Tansel was a homemaker and had worked at the Wilson Brothers Shirt Factory and JC Penneys, both in Crawfordsville. She was a 1945 graduate of Wingate High School.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: infant Donald, Kenneth, Clifford, Cliston, and Cyril Allen; sisters: Thelma Allen, Violet Miller, Norma Wilson, and infant Eleanor Allen.

A Public Graveside service will be held Saturday, June 15, at 1:00 PM, in the Wolf Creek Cemetery (Highway 234 W. and 600 E, near Shades State Park), with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. There will not be a visitation at the funeral home. Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements. Memorials may be sent to your favorite charity
