Sherrie L. (Staton) Taylor, age 65, went to Heaven early Monday morning, surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Crawfordsville on November 6, 1955, to Russell and Bonnie Staton.
Sherrie graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1974 where she was an honor student, cheerleader, and involved in many other activities. She went to Purdue University and graduated in 1979. She retired at 55 years old from the Crawfordsville Welfare Department where she was a Public Assistance Supervisor for the Family Social Service Administration. Later she went to work at Hose Elementary in the cafeteria for six months until she became ill. She gave such a valiant fight against her cancer and was truly amazing in how strong she was through the entire 6 ½ years right up until her last breath. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and she was the rock of her family.
Sherrie is survived by her parents Russell and Bonnie Staton; Son, Travis (Amber) Taylor; two daughters, Misty (Kevin) Taylor and Shanna (Mark) Taylor; her precious grandchildren, Alexus, Alec, Ashlyn, Emma, and Eli; brothers, Steve Staton and Denny (Tammy) Staton; sister, Suzi (Jim) Wright; and several nieces, nephews, and loving cousins. She was so loved by all who knew her.
