Stephen Biggs

Mr. Stephen L. Biggs, 64, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, December 8th, at 8:00 AM. He was born July 9th, 1950, in Crawfordsville, to Jerry L. and Carol R., (Henry) Biggs. He married Debbie Douglas on June 8th, 1973, in Crawfordsville, and they were married for 32 years. She survives.

Mr. Biggs was a Medical Equipment Designer, concentrating in research and development of medical blood analyzers and kidney dialysis machines, having received his own kidney transplant in 1997. He was a 1969 graduate of Darlington High School, a graduate of ITT Technical Institute in Electronics, and received his Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Purdue University. He was a member of the Montgomery Lodge #50, F & AM, Crawfordsville, where he had served as Master; was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 342; served on the Darlington Town Board; member of MENSA; past secretary of the Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers; member of the Indiana Astronomical Society; held the highest FCC license for Amateur (Ham) Radio operators; member of the Indianapolis Racing Pigeon Club; enjoyed hobbies of Beekeeping, Ham Radio, and Astronomy.

In addition to his ex-wife, he is survived by his parents; his children: Brian (Morgan) Biggs, Crawfordsville; Tracy (Brooks) Green, Woodstock, Illinois; Cristy (Todd) Reed, Broad Ripple, Indiana; and grandchildren: Kaleigh, Paytin, Addisyn Biggs, and Penelope, Isidora, and Beckham Green.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, December 12th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Freedom Cemetery, Highway 234 W, near Waveland. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, December 11th, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Masonic Services will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
