Stephen E. Shea

Mr. Stephen E. "Steve" Shea, age 69, of Waynetown, In. passed away at 10:20 am Sunday October 12, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis, In. following a short illness.
Steve was born March 8, 1945 at Crawfordsville, In. the son of Edwin M. and Lois Loretta Fruits Shea. He grew up in Waynetown and graduated from Waynetown High School in 1963 and served in the US Army from 1965 to 1966. Steve was very active in the community having been elected to the town board more than once. He was very proud of the town getting a water system with tower and then recently getting a new larger water tower. He was a member of the Waynetown Merchants Association and worked at the fish fry as a volunteer since 1960 and only missed the year he was in the army and this year due to his health. He was a staunch supporter and financial contributor of the new pool project and the summer festival and fireworks.
Steve is survived by his cousins, Maribeth Swain of Kokomo, In.; Loretta Lee Gregg of Russiaville, In. and Jay P. bowman of Trafalgar, In.; and several second cousins.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Friday October 17, 2014 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown. A graveside service will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery at 3:00pm with the Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating.
Memorial Dopnations may be made to the "Waynetown fireworks fund". Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
